Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions due to an impairment in physical, learning, language, or behavior areas.
These conditions begin during the developmental period, may impact day-to-day functioning, and usually last throughout a person’s lifetime. They may be physical, such as blindness. They may affect mental ability, such as learning disabilities. Or the problem can be both physical and mental, such as Down syndrome. There are many causes of developmental disabilities, including:
Play Therapy:
Play therapy is a form of therapy used primarily for children. Through play, children can learn new coping mechanisms and how to redirect inappropriate behaviors.
Music Therapy:
Music Therapy is the clinical use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. It is a well established allied health profession that uses music therapeutically to address behavioral, social, psychological, communicative, physical, sensorimotor, and/or cognitive functioning. Because music therapy is a powerful and non-threatening medium, unique outcomes are possible
Art Therapy:
Art therapy is based on the theory that creative expressions can foster healing and emotional well-being. It lets individuals communicate their personal experiences. It has been proven that creativity allows people to discover their self-identity
