About Developmental Milestones
Developmental milestones are behavioral or physical checkpoints in children’s development as they grow. These are the core skills infants and toddlers should be reaching
Week by week and month by month, you can monitor your child’s growth and development by following developmental milestones. Developmental milestones into the core parts of child development:two, though symptoms may be apparent much earlier.

Motor milestones:
When will your child sit independently? When will your child start to crawl? Motor milestones track gross motor skills (in their core and upper body) and fine motor skills (in their hands and feet).

Sensory milestones:
When will your child be able to visually track objects? When will your child have a regular sleep schedule? Sensory milestones track the development of the 7 senses.

Social & Emotional milestones:
When will your child gain a better understanding of their own emotions and emotions of others? These skills also involve learning how to interact and play with other people and the development of empathy.

Communication milestones:
When will your child say their first words? When do toddlers begin responding to questions? These language milestones are the building blocks to communication and social development

Feeding milestones:
When is your child ready for finger foods? How long should your child nurse for? These milestones help track when babies start new phases of feeding.

Cognitive milestones:
When will your child be able to think, learn, and solve problems? An infant learning how to respond to facial expressions and a pre-schooler learning the alphabet are both examples of cognitive milestones.
Remember, all children are different! Milestones mark the month most children start a certain behavior or ability based on age, but exact timing will vary
