The people behind Omneyat

Omneyat Foundation’s board is entirely volunteer run. The seven board members share the responsibility of ensuring the Foundation does what it was set up to do.

Fatima Alhasan

president

Fatima is a masters of law graduate from Georgetown University, currently working as a senior associate at Baker & McKenzie. Her previous jobs include international law firms, Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund and the World Bank. Fatima is a member of the Bahrain Bar Society and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London. In addition to Omneyat, Fatima is a board member at Al Raja School, a non-profit school set up by the Church in Bahrain back in 1899. Fatima is generally active with community, social and charity work; her main interest and passion lies in education.

Abdulla Fakhro

vice president

Abdulla is a director of the Abdulla Yousif Fakhro Group, Managing Director of the Adel Fakhro Group, and founder and Chairman of Summit 7 holding and Sawari Marine Services. Abdulla has an undergraduate degree in entrepreneurship and an MBA, with a focus on finance, from Babson College in the US. In addition to lending his business management and finance expertise to the Foundation, he also sits on the Board of Directors of other charities including Dreams Society and the Adel Fakhro and Mona Almoayyed Foundation.

Husain AlQaseer

Treasurer

Husain currently works as a Director of Investments at Al Rajhi Holdings Bahrain. Husain also has a wealth of experience in the non-profit sector. Besides being the Treasurer of Omneyat, he is also Treasurer of Dreams Society since 2012, was development committee member in Firefly Autism school in Denver, CO, and worked with several charities globally including: UNICEF, Roteract, Saudi-Bahraini Institute for the Blind, Together with the Children, Project CURE, and Food Bank of the Rockies. Husain is a Fulbright Scholar and holds an MBA with a concentration in Non-Profit Management and a Masters of Science in Finance from the University of Denver, CO, USA.

Wiebke Buelow

Secretary

Wiebke is an administrative consultant with more than 15 years’ experience in sales, marketing and operations. She was previously the Director of Sales & Marketing and a partner at Gemme Couture, a Dubai based fine jewellery brand. Prior to this, Wiebke worked for 5 years at Thomson Reuters in Bahrain where she was Head of Project Management of the Global Islamic Finance Division. Before she moved to Bahrain, Wiebke worked for various international companies in the hospitality, IT and finance industry in Germany. Wiebke has a BA degree from the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Germany.

Carla Saliba

Marketing Chair

Carla brings over 17 years of experience in design related disciplines to the Foundation. She began her career as an architect in 2001 and obtained a master’s degree in 2011 in business design specializing in ‘design thinking’. She is the founder and CEO of Infographic.ly in Dubai, the first information design & data visualization agency in the Middle East that focuses on helping companies communicate data to stakeholders clearly and effectively. In addition to sitting on the board of Omneyat, she is a Responsible Leader Alumni for the BMW Foundation.

Ingy Alireza

Clinical Chair

Ingy has a dual Masters in Intellectual Disability/Autism and Early Childhood Special Education from Columbia University. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), since 2006, and a New York State certified early childhood special educator. Ingy has worked as a therapist and consultant to families, mainstream and special education schools, and autism organizations in the Middle East and NYC since 2005. Ingy is the founder of Think Behavior and Development Center for Children. She is passionate about promoting evidence based practice and professional accountability in the GCC.

Zeina Al Khalifa

Fundraising Chair

Zeina is a former career diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs having represented Bahrain both at home and abroad since 2001. Notably, Zeina was posted to the Embassy of Bahrain in London, the United Kingdom from 2006-2013; culminating as deputy head of mission. In 2014 Zeina was appointed Director of the European Affairs Directorate at the Ministry. She recently moved from the diplomatic corps in order to pursue other interests, including charitable and community causes such as Omneyat. Zeina is a graduate of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, Washington D.C.
